Head Pastry Chef


We are in search of an experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team at our upscale bakery in Alta, Norway. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our pastry department. This includes creating and executing new pastry recipes, training and supervising pastry staff, maintaining inventory and ordering supplies, and ensuring the highest quality standards in all of our pastries.

Responsibilities:
- Develop new pastry recipes that are creative, unique and meet customer's preferences
- Train and supervise pastry staff to ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Create work schedules for pastry team to ensure efficient operation of the department
- Manage inventory levels and place orders for necessary supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards
- Manage costs by monitoring waste, portion control, and production efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to create desserts that complement their menus

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and sanitation standards
- Passion for creativity and ability to develop new recipes to meet customer demand
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Excellent time-management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed

Salary:
We are offering a competitive salary of $1700 per month based on experience.
