Head Chef (Faro, Portugal)
We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our team in Faro, Portugal. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standard. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1600$ per month.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus that are both appealing and cost-effective
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks and assistants
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies
- Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with management to develop new dishes or make changes to existing ones
- Manage food costs by minimizing waste and controlling portion sizes
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu items
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or certification preferred, but not required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to create innovative dishes while also adhering to budgetary constraints
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Fluent in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
