Job Title: Preservation Architect
A prestigious architecture firm in Shan, Kenya is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings, structures, and sites. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural history and conservation techniques, as well as the ability to work closely with clients, contractors, and preservation organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings and sites to determine preservation needs
- Create detailed preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with clients to develop project goals and timelines
- Work with contractors to oversee the execution of preservation plans
- Maintain accurate records of all preservation projects
- Research historical materials, techniques, and construction methods for use in restoration projects
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in historic preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Historic Preservation
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation or restoration projects
- Strong knowledge of architectural history and conservation techniques
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and preservation organizations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or other architectural software is preferred
