Entry-Level Typesetter in Svalbard

As a typesetter, you will be responsible for formatting and laying out text, images, and graphics for various print and digital publications. You will work closely with editors, authors, and designers to ensure that our publications are visually appealing and error-free.

No prior experience is required for this role. We are willing to provide training to the right candidate who is eager to learn and grow in this field. However, basic knowledge of design software such as Adobe InDesign is preferred.

This position does not include accommodation, but we are happy to assist with finding suitable housing options in Svalbard. Additionally, we offer visa sponsorship for international candidates.

Key Requirements:
- A keen eye for detail and excellent proofreading skills
- Familiarity with design software such as Adobe InDesign
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills

Responsibilities:
- Format text, images, and graphics according to established style guidelines
- Collaborate with editors, authors, and designers to ensure design elements complement the content
- Check proofs for errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting
- Make necessary corrections or adjustments based on feedback from team members
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Salary:
We offer a starting salary of $1100 per month for this entry-level position. As you gain experience and take on more responsibilities, there may be opportunities for salary increases.

Location:
This job will be based in Svalbard, an archipelago located between Norway and the North Pole. It is a unique opportunity to live and work in a remote and beautiful location.
