Part-Time Preservation Architect
A small architectural firm in Faroe Islands is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Preservation Architect to join our team. This position is ideal for someone looking for a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work on a variety of historic preservation projects.
As a Part-Time Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for conducting site visits, evaluating structures, and creating detailed reports and recommendations for the preservation of historic buildings. You must have a deep understanding of architectural history and techniques, as well as knowledge of building codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to assess the condition of historic buildings
- Research the history and architectural significance of structures
- Create detailed reports outlining recommended preservation techniques and materials
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, and other professionals to develop preservation plans
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with preservation plans
- Stay up-to-date on current preservation practices and regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation
- Minimum of 3 years experience in historic preservation
- Strong understanding of architectural history, techniques, and materials
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to historic preservation
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong research skills
Salary: $1600/month (pro-rated based on hours worked)
Location: Faroe Islands (work from home option available)
