We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Preservation Architect for a part-time role in Faro, Portugal. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Faro.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments and surveys of historic buildings to determine necessary preservation work
- Creating detailed preservation plans and proposals for clients, including cost estimates and timelines
- Overseeing preservation projects from start to finish, ensuring all work is done according to historical guidelines and regulations
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the structural integrity of preserved buildings
- Conducting research on historical materials and methods to inform preservation decisions
- Maintaining accurate records of all preservation work and documentation for future reference
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Previous experience in preservation architecture preferred but not required
- Proficient in architectural software such as AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within strict historical guidelines
- Excellent research skills with a knowledge of historic materials and methods
- Fluent in English (Portuguese proficiency is a plus)
