Library Assistant (Esbjerg, Denmark)


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Library Assistant to join our team at the Esbjerg Public Library. As a Library Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Librarian with daily tasks and ensuring that our library runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with finding materials and answering questions
- Check materials in and out using the library system
- Sort and shelve books and other materials according to the library's classification system
- Maintain the organization of shelves and ensure all materials are in their correct location
- Process new materials by stamping, labeling, and covering them
- Assist with collection maintenance by identifying damaged or outdated materials for removal or repair
- Help plan and execute events such as book clubs, author visits, and workshops
- Assist with cataloging new materials into the library system
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons by answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing recommendations

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field preferred but not required
- Previous experience working in a library or customer service setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills and experience with library systems preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $900 per month.

This position is located at the Esbjerg Public Library in Esbjerg, Denmark.
