We are currently hiring a skilled Mason to join our team in Funchal, Portugal. As a Mason, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures made of brick, concrete blocks or stone. Your main goal will be to ensure that the structures are sturdy and properly aligned.

Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints or instructions from supervisors and plan layout of construction
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, chalk lines, or marking gauges
- Mix mortar or other adhesives according to standard formulas
- Lay out patterns or foundations according to plans
- Break or cut bricks, stones, or blocks to size using chisels, hammers, or power saws
- Align structures vertically and horizontally using plumb bob, gauge line and level
- Spread mortar between joints using trowel and smooth out with hand tools
- Clean excess mortar with trowels and other tools
- Repair cracked or damaged masonry surfaces with patching material

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mason in commercial or residential construction projects
- Knowledge of different building materials and their properties
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good understanding of safety procedures
- Attention to detail
- High school diploma/GED preferred

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1500 per month.
