Cashier at Busy City Supermarket in Aalborg, Denmark



We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Cashier to join our busy supermarket in the bustling city of Aalborg, Denmark. As a cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key responsibilities:
- Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude
- Scan items accurately and process payments using a cash register or other electronic system
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision
- Ensure correct pricing of items and apply discounts or promotions as needed
- Bag items carefully to prevent damage or spills
- Maintain knowledge of store layout and product locations to assist customers with any inquiries
- Keep checkout area clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies (i.e. bags, receipt paper)
- Assist with inventory management by reporting any discrepancies or shortages to management
- Follow all safety and security procedures, including verifying biometric passports when necessary

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous cashier experience is preferred but not required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Strong math skills for accurate transaction processing
- Familiarity with electronic cash registers or point-of-sale systems is an asset
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must have a valid biometric passport for identification purposes
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly

Working conditions:
This is a contract job without accommodation provided. You will be expected to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The starting salary for this position is $1100 per month.
