Preservation Architect


We are in need of a highly skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Aalborg. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings, structures and sites. Your main duties will include conducting research, creating preservation plans, overseeing construction and restoration projects, and providing expert advice on preservation techniques. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of historical architecture and preservation methods, as well as excellent project management skills. This is a contract position with accommodation and visa sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on historic buildings and sites to determine their historical significance.
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines.
- Oversee construction and restoration projects to ensure they meet preservation standards.
- Provide expert advice on preservation techniques and materials.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as engineers and contractors to ensure project success.
- Maintain documentation of all preservation work.
- Monitor the condition of preserved buildings to identify any necessary maintenance or repairs.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working on historic preservation projects.
- Extensive knowledge of architectural history, styles, materials, and methods.
- Strong understanding of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional research skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with a team.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred:
- Master's degree in Historic Preservation or related field.
- Previous experience working in Aalborg or Denmark.
