Data Mining Specialist



We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Mining Specialist to join our team in Porto. As a Data Mining Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large sets of data from various sources to identify patterns and trends. Your main goal will be to provide valuable insights and support decision-making processes within our company.

Responsibilities:
- Collect data from different sources, such as databases, websites, and social media platforms
- Clean and validate data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Develop and maintain databases for storing data
- Use various data mining tools and techniques to extract relevant information
- Analyze data sets using statistical methods and machine learning algorithms
- Identify patterns, trends, and correlations in the data
- Present findings in a clear and understandable manner through reports or visualizations
- Collaborate with other teams to define business requirements for data mining projects
- Stay updated on advancements in data mining techniques and tools

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
- Proven work experience as a Data Mining Specialist or similar role
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R or other programming languages used for data analysis
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques (e.g. clustering, decision trees)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in a related field
- Experience with big data platforms (e.g. Hadoop)
- Familiarity with cloud computing services (e.g. AWS)

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1000 per month, with potential for growth based on performance. Accommodation and a biometric passport will also be provided to the selected candidate.
