Accountant (Svalbard)


We are a growing financial services firm in search of an experienced Accountant to join our team in Svalbard. As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. You will be responsible for managing our company's financial records, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Conduct variance analysis to identify areas of concern or improvement
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with tax filings
- Monitor cash flow and reconcile bank statements regularly
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate recording of transactions
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws
- Proficient in MS Office suite and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Norwegian is a plus)

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $1400 per month. Accommodation will be provided for the right candidate.
