Head Pastry Chef


We are in search of an experienced and skilled Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury hotel in the beautiful city of Svalbard. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department, including menu creation, production, and presentation. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of 1000$ per week.

Main Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and innovative pastry menus that meet the needs and preferences of our guests
- Manage all aspects of the pastry production process, including ordering ingredients, preparing doughs and batters, baking, decorating, and plating
- Ensure high quality standards are met in terms of taste, presentation, and overall appearance
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs to maintain consistency and quality in all pastries served
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary supplies to avoid any shortages
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus that cater to various dietary restrictions or preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- In-depth knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, and safety/sanitation guidelines
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique dessert concepts that stand out from traditional offerings
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively train and manage a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or relevant certification from an accredited institution
- Previous experience working in luxury hotels or fine-dining restaurants
