Civil Engineer - Contract Position in Svalbard



We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer for a contract position in Svalbard. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction projects in the city. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
- Design and plan construction projects according to budget and timeline requirements
- Conduct site visits to assess feasibility and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Prepare detailed project proposals, including cost estimates and material specifications
- Oversee the work of contractors, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure quality and timely completion of projects
- Monitor progress of construction projects and make adjustments as needed to stay on track with timelines
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to provide updates on project status
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during construction and provide solutions to keep projects moving forward

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in civil engineering or construction management
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations in Svalbard
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Salary:
The salary for this contract position is 1400$ per month. Accommodation will also be provided.
