Data Mining Specialist
Location: Svalbard, Norway (accommodation provided)


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Mining Specialist to join our team in Svalbard. In this role, you will be responsible for extracting and analyzing large amounts of data from various sources, identifying patterns and trends, and providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities:
- Perform data mining techniques to extract information from databases, websites, and other sources
- Develop algorithms and models to analyze complex datasets
- Identify patterns, trends, and correlations within the data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide data-driven recommendations
- Create reports and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in data mining or related field
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with database management systems (SQL, MongoDB)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate large datasets
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner

Preferred:
- Experience with machine learning techniques
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Understanding of statistical analysis methods
