Shaper Technician

We are a surfboard manufacturing company based in Malindi, Kenya and we are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shaper Technician to join our team. As a Shaper Technician, you will be responsible for shaping and finishing surfboards according to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Use various tools and techniques to shape and finish surfboards, including planers, sanders, rasps, and sandpaper
- Read and interpret customer orders and specifications to ensure accuracy in shaping process
- Work with different types of foam cores, fiberglass materials, resins, and other supplies to create high-quality surfboards
- Maintain inventory of materials and tools needed for shaping process
- Collaborate with Designers and other team members to create customized designs for customers
- Inspect finished boards for any imperfections or flaws before sending them out for delivery
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during the shaping process

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in Surfboard Shaping is a plus
- At least 2 years of experience as a Shaper Technician in the surfboard industry
- Familiarity with different types of foam cores, fiberglass materials, resins, and other supplies used in shaping process
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret customer orders accurately
- Strong time management skills and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and discussing customer specifications

Salary:
This is a contract job with a starting salary of $1700 per month. Salary may vary depending on experience level.
