Preservation Architect - Historic Restoration Specialist
Our firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team in Akron, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for historic preservation and restoration, with the ability to lead and manage complex projects from conception to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings and structures to determine preservation needs and develop restoration plans
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure all aspects of restoration projects meet preservation standards and guidelines
- Conduct research on building materials, construction techniques, and historical significance of structures
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for restoration projects
- Oversee construction progress and provide guidance on preservation techniques as needed
- Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal regulations for historic preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation or restoration projects
- Strong knowledge of historic building materials, construction techniques, and preservation standards
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other design software
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members
Salary: $1600 per month
Location: Akron, Ohio (Preference for Indian nationals)
