Library Assistant (English-speaking)

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Library Assistant to join our team at a prestigious library in Ar Rumaythiyah, Kuwait. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to the management and maintenance of the library collection. This is an excellent opportunity for an English-speaking individual with a passion for books and libraries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with cataloging and shelving library materials according to established guidelines
- Conduct routine checks of the library collection to ensure proper organization and identify any missing or damaged items
- Help patrons locate materials and provide basic reference assistance
- Process incoming and outgoing loans of library materials
- Maintain accurate records of circulation statistics and compile reports as needed
- Assist with planning and implementing library events and programs
- Keep the library space clean, tidy, and inviting for patrons
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Librarian

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred, but not required
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous experience in a library setting is not required but preferred

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1400 per month.

Schedule:
This is a full-time position with working hours from Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Benefits:
As an Indian national working in Kuwait, you will be provided with all necessary work permits. However, please note that this position does not include accommodation.
