Assistant Librarian


A reputable library in Eschen is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Librarian to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about books and knowledge, and has a strong attention to detail. As our Assistant Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Librarian in managing the library's day-to-day operations and providing excellent customer service to our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in cataloguing and organizing library materials using the Dewey Decimal System
- Help with maintaining the library's collection by shelving books, processing new acquisitions, and weeding out old or damaged materials
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service by answering patrons' questions, assisting with research needs, and recommending books or resources
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events for all ages
- Monitor the library's inventory of supplies and assist with ordering new materials as needed
- Collaborate with the Head Librarian on developing policies and procedures to improve library services
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in librarianship and make recommendations for enhancing our services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English (German language skills are a plus)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Passion for books, reading, and promoting literacy
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Prior experience working in a library setting is preferred but not required

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with a salary of 1500$ per month. The working hours are Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm. This position does not require prior experience or accommodation.
