Pastry Chef

We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team in Washington. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts, as well as strong leadership skills to manage our pastry team. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for developing new menu items, overseeing daily operations of the pastry kitchen, and ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop new dessert menu items while adhering to our brand standards
- Manage inventory and ordering of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Train and lead a team of pastry cooks to ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Oversee daily operations of the pastry kitchen, including preparation, baking, and plating of desserts
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety guidelines
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus for special events or holidays
- Ensure that all desserts meet dietary restrictions or special requests from customers
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and methods for creating various types of pastries
- Creativity in developing new dessert recipes while staying within budget constraints
- Ability to manage inventory, costs, and labor efficiently
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and communicate effectively with staff
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on presentation
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Salary: $900 per week (negotiable based on experience)
