Job Title: Librarian (Muscat, Oman)


We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Librarian to join our team at our library in Muscat, Oman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for organizing and managing the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials. You will also provide assistance to library patrons in finding and accessing information, as well as promoting library resources and services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials
- Catalogue new acquisitions and maintain accurate records of all materials
- Assist library patrons in finding and accessing information
- Provide reference services and research assistance to patrons
- Promote library resources and services through outreach activities
- Create displays and exhibits to showcase new arrivals or special collections
- Develop and implement programs for children, teens, or adults to promote literacy and learning
- Train library staff on new technologies or systems
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop collection development strategies

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of current technologies used in libraries such as integrated library systems, digital databases, e-books, etc.
- Familiarity with cataloging standards such as MARC21 or AACR2
- Experience with reference services and research methods
- Creativity and innovation in developing programs for patrons of all ages

Salary:
$1000 USD per month
