Android Developer - Washington, DC



We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our growing team in Washington, DC. As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for our clients. You should have a strong understanding of the Android platform and its various components such as Activity, Fragment, Service, Broadcast Receiver and Content Provider. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Android app development and must be proficient in Java and Kotlin. This is a contract job with a salary of $1200 per month without accommodation. Candidates must have their own visa to work in the US.

Responsibilities:
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Android app development
- Proficient in Java and Kotlin programming languages
- Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Strong understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
- Experience working with remote data via RESTful APIs and JSON
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with Git version control system
- Knowledge of Material Design guidelines and best practices for mobile application UI/UX design
