Head Pastry Chef - Mombasa, Kenya
We are seeking an experienced and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury resort in Mombasa, Kenya. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department including menu creation, staff management, and maintaining high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update menus for all pastry offerings including cakes, pastries, and desserts
- Train and manage a team of pastry chefs and assistants to ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all health and safety regulations
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of orders
- Stay updated on current trends in the pastry industry and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry arts
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Creative mindset with a passion for creating unique desserts
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Fluent English proficiency is required
Salary: $1800 per month (negotiable based on experience)
