Construction Manager - Funchal, Portugal (Contract)



We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team in Funchal, Portugal. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all construction activities on-site
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project stakeholders
- Hire and manage subcontractors and construction workers
- Review and approve project plans, drawings and budgets
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications
- Prepare regular progress reports for upper management

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes and safety regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in project management software (e.g. Primavera P6)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1400 per month for this contract position.

Location:
This position is based in Funchal, the capital city of Madeira Island in Portugal. The island is known for its beautiful scenery, mild climate and rich history. While accommodation is not provided, we can assist with finding suitable housing options.
