Surveying Technician
As a Surveying Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with various surveying tasks under the supervision of a licensed land surveyor. Your duties will include setting up and operating survey equipment, taking accurate measurements and readings, and recording data. You will also assist with conducting research and organizing survey data. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, physically fit, and has a strong interest in land surveying. No prior experience or knowledge of English is required for this job. Indian candidates are preferred, and accommodation will be provided in Nizwa.
As a Surveying Technician, you will play a crucial role in helping our team accurately measure land boundaries and assist with various construction projects. Your attention to detail and ability to work in physically demanding environments will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our surveys. Responsibilities:
- Assist with setting up and operating survey equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and laser levels.
- Take accurate measurements using various tools including tapes, chains, levels, and theodolites.
- Record data collected during surveys using computer software or traditional methods.
- Conduct research on previous surveys, property records, and other relevant documents.
- Help organize survey data for analysis and presentation.
- Follow safety protocols while working on construction sites or in remote locations.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, calibrating, and performing basic repairs.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Physical fitness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to accurately record data.
- Basic understanding of geometry and algebra.
- Ability to use basic surveying tools such as tapes, levels, compasses, etc.
- Familiarity with computer software used for survey data collection and organization is a plus.
- Prior experience in land surveying is not required but will be considered an asset.
- Fluent in Hindi or other Indian languages is preferred.
- Must be willing to relocate to Nizwa and live in company-provided accommodation.
