Preservation Architect (Part-Time)
A leading architectural firm in Bergen is seeking a skilled and passionate Preservation Architect to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in and around the city.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical structures to determine their condition and necessary preservation measures
- Develop and implement preservation plans, including restoration, renovation, and maintenance strategies
- Collaborate with other architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure preservation work is carried out in accordance with local regulations and standards
- Research historical documents, materials, and techniques to accurately restore buildings to their original state
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for preservation projects
- Regularly inspect ongoing preservation work to ensure quality and adherence to plans
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field (Master's preferred)
- Proven experience in the preservation of historical buildings and structures
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, materials, and techniques used in historic preservation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for creating detailed drawings
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting plans to clients
Salary:
This is a part-time position with a salary of $1200 per month.
Location:
The position is based in Bergen but may require occasional travel to nearby cities for project sites.
