Executive Chef at Upscale Restaurant in Alta, Norway


We are seeking an experienced and talented Executive Chef to join our team at an upscale restaurant in Alta, Norway. As the head chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and creating delicious and innovative dishes for our guests. You will also be responsible for managing and training a team of chefs and kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:
- Develop menu items that are creative, fresh and in line with the restaurant's concept
- Oversee purchasing, ordering, and inventory management of food and supplies
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet high standards
- Lead and train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines
- Create schedules for kitchen staff to ensure proper coverage during busy periods
- Manage food costs by monitoring portion control, waste, and inventory levels
- Collaborate with front of house staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating unique dishes using local ingredients
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing a team
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (knowledge of Norwegian is a plus)

Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience as a chef
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a fine dining restaurant
- Valid food handling certification

Salary: 1600$ per month (negotiable based on experience)

City: Alta, Norway (accommodation provided)
