Librarian - Entry Level


We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Librarian to join our team in Shan, Kenya. As an entry level position, no prior experience is required, making this an ideal opportunity for recent graduates or those looking to start a career in Library Science.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain library collections, including books, periodicals, and multimedia materials
- Assist patrons with locating and checking out materials
- Create and implement library programs and activities for all ages
- Manage library budget and ordering of new materials
- Catalogue new acquisitions using appropriate systems
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop collections and services that meet the needs of the community
- Provide reference services and assist patrons with research inquiries
- Maintain library equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Fluency in English required
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is 1100$ per month.

Location:
This position is located in Shan, Kenya. Preference will be given to Kenyan nationals or those with experience working in Kenya.
