Chef de Cuisine
We are hiring a highly skilled and experienced Chef de Cuisine for our restaurant in Sheduva, Kenya. As a Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu planning to food preparation and presentation. Your creativity and passion for cooking will be crucial in creating innovative and delicious dishes that will delight our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create menus that align with our restaurant's concept and appeal to our target audience
- Source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory to ensure freshness and cost-effectiveness
- Train, supervise, and coordinate the work of kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Implement proper sanitation, health, and safety standards in the kitchen at all times
- Oversee food preparation, including cooking techniques, portion control, plating, and garnishing
- Continuously strive to improve dishes by incorporating new techniques and ingredients while maintaining consistency
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and ingredients
- Ability to lead a team with excellent communication skills
- Creativity and passion for cooking with an eye for detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food cost control measures
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts is preferred
