Part-Time Executive Chef at Fine Dining Restaurant in Funchal
Join our team as a Part-Time Executive Chef at our upscale restaurant in Funchal! We are seeking an experienced and passionate chef to lead our kitchen team in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, from menu creation and food preparation to managing inventory and maintaining food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards and presented beautifully
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Enforce strict food safety standards to ensure the health and safety of our guests and employees
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in a fine dining restaurant preferred
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and culinary trends
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a valid work visa for Funchal (visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates)
- Must be able to work part-time hours (approximately 20 hours per week)
Salary: Starting at $1100 per month (based on experience)
