Barista vacancy in Mombasa Kenya

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Barista to join our team in Mombasa. The ideal candidate should have excellent beverage preparation skills, strong customer service abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced café environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, coolers, milkshakes, and specialty beverages.

Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all beverages.

Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment.

Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients, and report replenishment requirements.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations.

Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.

Take customer orders accurately and process payments when required.

Recommend beverages and menu items to customers.

Assist in developing new beverage recipes and seasonal drink offerings.

Ensure proper storage and handling of all food and beverage items.

Perform daily opening and closing duties.

Minimize wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.

Train junior staff on beverage preparation and service standards when required.

Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.

Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Barista in a café, restaurant, hotel, or coffee shop.

Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and beverage preparation techniques.

Experience preparing specialty coffees, teas, mocktails, and cold beverages.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
