Blast Furnace Worker
A blast furnace worker is responsible for operating and maintaining a blast furnace, which is used to produce iron and steel. This physically demanding job requires the ability to work in extreme temperatures and handle heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the blast furnace to ensure smooth production process
- Adjust controls and settings to maintain desired temperature and pressure levels
- Monitor equipment for any malfunctions or issues and report them immediately
- Load raw materials into the furnace using cranes or other heavy machinery
- Regularly clean and maintain the furnace to keep it in good working condition
- Follow safety procedures at all times, including wearing protective gear and following proper handling techniques
Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and able to work in hot, noisy, and dirty environments
- Previous experience working with blast furnaces is preferred but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
- Willingness to work long shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Indian nationality preferred (but not required)
- No English language skills required
Salary:
Starting salary of 1700$ per month with potential for growth based on performance.
Location:
This position is located in Bungoma, a city in Kenya known for its iron ore mines. Accommodation will be provided for workers on site.
Visa & Ticket:
Free visa sponsorship will be provided by the company. A free ticket will also be provided for those hired from outside of Kenya.
