Blast Furnace Operator



We are seeking an experienced Blast Furnace Operator to join our team in Bungoma. As a Blast Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating the blast furnace to produce molten iron. This role requires physical strength and stamina as well as technical knowledge and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and adjust the flow of materials into the furnace according to production requirements
- Operate various controls and machinery to maintain proper temperature, pressure, and flow levels in the furnace
- Inspect equipment for any malfunctions or defects and report issues to maintenance team
- Remove slag from furnace using specialized tools
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Record production data and maintain accurate logs of all activities

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a blast furnace or similar industrial setting
- Physically fit with ability to lift heavy objects and work in extreme temperatures
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fluency in English is preferred but not required
