Database Administrator (DBA) in Os, Norway



As a Database Administrator (DBA), you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our company's databases. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that our databases are running efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain database software
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies
- Ensure database security by implementing access controls and data encryption
- Create and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary
- Collaborate with developers to optimize database design for better performance
- Troubleshoot data-related problems in a timely manner
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in the field of database management

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
- Experience with database design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization
- Familiarity with data backup/recovery techniques and disaster recovery plans
- Understanding of database security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Certification in Database Administration or relevant technology fields
- Experience working with cloud-based databases (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Java, Python, etc.
