Database Administrator (DBA)


The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our company’s databases. This position requires strong technical skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate should have experience in database management and maintenance, along with a thorough understanding of SQL and other database-related languages.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate measures
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize database design for efficient data retrieval
- Install, configure, and maintain database software and related systems
- Create user accounts, assign permissions, and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security policies
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as index rebuilding, data purging, etc.
- Generate reports on database usage, performance metrics, and other relevant information for management review

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of SQL and other database-related languages (e.g. PL/SQL)
- Experience with database design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience with backup/recovery processes and disaster recovery planning
- Knowledge of data security best practices and experience implementing them in a production environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being an effective team player
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional)
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases (e.g. Amazon RDS)
