Pastry Chef - Indian Cuisine
We are looking for a skilled Pastry Chef who specializes in Indian cuisine to join our team at a fine dining restaurant in Clairvaux. Our ideal candidate should have a passion for creating traditional and modern Indian desserts, as well as experience in managing pastry operations and leading a team.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop new dessert recipes that showcase the flavors and techniques of Indian cuisine
- Manage all aspects of pastry production, including ordering ingredients, maintaining inventory, and ensuring quality control
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and assistants
- Collaborate with the executive chef to create seasonal menus that feature Indian-inspired desserts
- Oversee the plating and presentation of desserts to ensure they meet our high standards for taste and aesthetics
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen
- Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate them into dessert offerings
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Pastry Chef with a focus on Indian cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Indian desserts, as well as modern techniques and flavor combinations
- Ability to lead a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail for plating and presentation of desserts
- Creativity and passion for experimenting with new flavors and ingredients
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with other chefs and kitchen staff
Education:
A degree in culinary arts or equivalent training is preferred but not required. Experience in working at reputable restaurants specializing in Indian cuisine is essential.
Salary:
Starting salary is $1300 per month with potential for growth based on performance.
Preference:
Indian nationals or candidates with extensive experience working with Indian cuisine are preferred.
