Junior Librarian



We are hiring a Junior Librarian to join our team in Almada. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing our library collection, assisting patrons with research and inquiries, and promoting library resources and services.

Responsibilities:
- Catalogue new library materials using appropriate classification systems
- Assist patrons with locating books, articles, and other resources for research purposes
- Provide guidance on using library technology, such as computers and databases
- Create engaging displays and activities to promote library resources
- Facilitate book clubs, storytimes, and other programs for children and adults
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the library space
- Process interlibrary loan requests from other libraries

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with diverse populations
- Knowledge of library classification systems (e.g. Dewey Decimal)
- Familiarity with library technology (e.g. cataloging software, online databases)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fluency in English (Portuguese language skills a plus)

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with a salary of $1100 per month. The selected candidate will also receive a free visa and ticket to Almada. This is an excellent opportunity for freshers looking to start their career in the field of Library Science.
