Preservation Architect

As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures while maintaining their integrity and significance. Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting detailed assessments of historical structures to determine preservation needs
- Developing preservation plans and strategies for projects
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and preservation agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits
- Conducting research on materials, techniques, and historical significance of structures
- Creating detailed drawings and specifications for restoration projects
- Overseeing construction work to ensure adherence to preservation standards
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and records
Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree in Architecture or related field
- Strong knowledge of architectural principles, history, and materials used in historical structures
- Previous experience working on preservation or restoration projects is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with relevant preservation regulations and guidelines
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders involved in projects
- Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to travel occasionally for site visits
