Head Chef
We are in need of a skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at our restaurant in Oslo, Norway. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and implementing menus, managing inventory and food costs, maintaining a high standard of food quality and presentation, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design new menus that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary restrictions
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients as needed
- Manage food costs by minimizing waste, utilizing ingredients efficiently, and negotiating with suppliers
- Oversee daily food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and standards
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high levels of productivity and quality
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health codes
- Collaborate with management on budget planning and cost control measures
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to implement them effectively
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary starting at 1700$ per month.
