Sous Chef
We are in need of a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Salalah. As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the culinary operations of the kitchen, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes. You must have a strong background in cooking techniques and be able to lead and inspire a team of chefs. The ideal candidate will have experience in fine dining and excellent organizational skills. Responsibilities:
- Assisting Head Chef in menu planning and development
- Ensuring all dishes are prepared to high standards and in a timely manner
- Training and supervising kitchen staff
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and following food safety regulations
- Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Assisting with budget management
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Salary: 1700 USD per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Salalah, Oman (candidates must be willing to relocate)
Preference will be given to candidates who have Canadian citizenship or are currently located in Canada.
