Head Pastry Chef - Funchal, Portugal
We are excited to offer a dynamic and experienced Head Pastry Chef the opportunity to join our team at a high-end restaurant in the beautiful city of Funchal, Portugal. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department and ensuring the delivery of exceptional desserts and baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and develop new pastry and dessert menu items, while also maintaining existing offerings
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies for the pastry department
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs, ensuring high-quality standards are met
- Ensure that all food safety regulations are followed at all times
- Collaborate with other chefs to design cohesive menus that incorporate both savory and sweet elements
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen
- Monitor food costs and make necessary adjustments to maintain profitability
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a fine dining establishment or luxury hotel
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred
- Proven ability to create innovative desserts while also executing classic recipes with precision
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team of pastry chefs
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment
- Passion for using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create delicious desserts
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Salary:
