Preservation Architect

A reputable architecture firm in Fonvieille is seeking a skilled and passionate Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures, while also ensuring that they meet modern safety and accessibility standards. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and other architects to develop preservation plans and oversee the implementation of these plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of architectural history, excellent design skills, and a deep understanding of building materials and techniques used in different eras. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1600 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on the historical context of buildings and structures
- Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision for the project
- Create detailed drawings and models to accurately depict the proposed changes or restorations
- Oversee construction teams to ensure that preservation plans are properly executed
- Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and address any issues that may arise
- Work with engineers and other architects to ensure that preservation plans are structurally sound
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in preservation techniques and materials

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field (Master's preferred)
- Proven experience in preservation architecture (portfolio or references required)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software
- Strong understanding of architectural history, styles, and techniques
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and guidelines related to preservation projects
- Excellent design skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with clients, engineers, contractors, etc.
- Biometric passport (or ability to obtain one)
- Fluent in English (French proficiency is a plus)
