Head Pastry Chef
The Head Pastry Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastry department in a high-end restaurant located in Hawalli, Kuwait. They will be leading a team of pastry cooks and collaborating with the executive chef to create and execute a creative and high-quality menu. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in French pastry techniques, as well as experience managing a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute innovative dessert menus that reflect the restaurant's concept and style
- Oversee all aspects of the pastry department including ordering, inventory management, and cost control
- Train and manage a team of pastry cooks, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency
- Work closely with the executive chef to develop new menu items and specials
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Conduct regular tastings to monitor quality control of all pastries
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the pastry program
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a fine dining or upscale restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of French pastry techniques
- Strong leadership skills with previous experience managing a team
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Creativity and passion for creating unique dessert experiences
Salary: $1100/month (tax-free)
