Welder
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. As a Welder, you will be responsible for using various welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures and equipment. The ideal candidate will have previous welding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. This position requires physical strength, stamina, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to operate welding equipment safely is also important. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1100 per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Select appropriate welding technique based on material type and thickness
- Set up welding equipment including gas tanks, regulators, cables, and torches
- Clean and prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust or debris
- Operate welding equipment safely while following all safety procedures
- Monitor welds for defects or imperfections
- Repair broken or damaged parts using appropriate welding techniques
- Conduct quality checks on finished products
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects within deadlines
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding required
- Knowledge of various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, ARC, and oxy-acetylene
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Physical strength and stamina required for working in various positions for extended periods of time
- Attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions effectively
