Junior Preservation Architect
As a Junior Preservation Architect, you will work alongside experienced professionals in the field of historic preservation to contribute to the restoration and conservation of historical buildings and sites. Your role will involve conducting research, creating architectural drawings and models, and providing support for project management. This is a great opportunity for an English-speaking individual with a passion for architecture and history to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on historical buildings and sites to understand their architectural significance, materials used, and current condition
- Create detailed architectural drawings and models using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Assist with project management tasks such as coordinating with contractors, obtaining necessary permits, and monitoring progress
- Collaborate with experienced architects to develop restoration plans that adhere to preservation guidelines
- Attend site visits to document existing conditions and assist with on-site assessments
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals are met
- Stay updated on best practices in historic preservation through attending workshops or conferences
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in architecture or historic preservation (internship experience will be considered)
- Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp
- Strong understanding of architectural principles, materials, and construction methods
- Excellent research skills with the ability to gather information from various sources
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Knowledge of Hebrew is a plus but not required
