Executive Chef
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Faroe-Islands. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities, while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Your creativity and passion for cooking will be showcased in our menu offerings, as you create unique dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop menus that align with our restaurant's concept and appeal to our target audience
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Oversee the work of the kitchen staff, delegating tasks as needed
- Train new employees on proper cooking techniques and food safety standards
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipe specifications and presented in an appealing manner
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Creativity in developing unique dishes and menu items
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a diverse team
- Excellent time-management skills to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Food Safety Manager certification required
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Faroese language is a plus)
Salary:
$1500 per month (negotiable based on experience)
