Turner - Metal Machinist (Svalbard)



As a Turner at our metal machining company in Svalbard, you will play a crucial role in the production process by operating and maintaining various types of metalworking machinery. Your main responsibilities will include setting up and adjusting machines, reading blueprints and technical drawings, and using precision measuring tools to ensure accurate production.

Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Turner or Metal Machinist
- Proficiency in using various types of metalworking machinery
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of metalworking machinery including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills
- Set up machines according to specifications provided by blueprints or technical drawings
- Adjust machine settings to achieve desired outcomes
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accurate production
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance purposes
- Maintain machines by performing routine maintenance tasks as needed
