Librarian
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented librarian to join our team in Clairvaux. As a librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, providing research assistance to patrons, and promoting library resources and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Catalog and classify library materials using appropriate systems and tools
- Maintain an organized and easily accessible collection by shelving and arranging materials
- Assist patrons with research inquiries, reference questions, and locating materials
- Promote library resources and services through outreach activities such as book clubs, workshops, and social media posts
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, universities, and community organizations to enhance library services
- Manage interlibrary loan requests and maintain accurate records of borrowed materials
- Oversee the maintenance of library equipment, including computers, printers, and audiovisual equipment
- Train new staff members on library procedures and policies
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and implement new technologies to improve library operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- 2+ years of experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse patrons from different backgrounds
and ages
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
System
- Familiarity with online databases for research purposes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $1400 per month. We are currently looking for Malayalee candidates who are fluent in English. Accommodation is not provided; however, we will provide free visa sponsorship and roundtrip tickets for the successful candidate.
