Heavy Equipment Operator

We are hiring a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Bergen. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, and forklifts. Your main duties will include preparing and grading construction sites, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring the safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment according to safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, grading land, and digging trenches
- Load and unload materials from trucks using forklifts or other equipment
- Collaborate with other workers on site to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Maintain equipment by conducting regular inspections, cleaning, and reporting any malfunctions or damages
- Follow all safety procedures on site to prevent accidents or injuries
- Complete daily logs and reports of work performed

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification preferred
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting is an asset
- Knowledge of safety protocols for operating heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and diagrams
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to operate controls with precision
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
