Excavator Operator


We are in need of a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Funchal! As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate, move and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction or other projects. This is a contract position with a salary of 1200$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of excavators according to project needs and specifications
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and ensure proper maintenance and safe operation
- Use excavator attachments such as buckets, hammers or grapples as required
- Dig trenches, foundations, or holes according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors
- Load and unload materials or debris using excavator bucket or other attachments
- Ensure proper positioning and leveling of equipment for efficient operation
- Coordinate with other team members to complete tasks efficiently and safely
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations on site

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Excavator Operator in construction or other related fields
- Experience operating various types of excavators such as crawler, wheel or backhoe excavators
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions from supervisors
- Physical strength and stamina to operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time
- Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception for precise operation of equipment
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures on construction sites
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends if needed

Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in heavy equipment operation
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
